Description

A flavorful smoked salmon recipe perfect for summer evenings, bringing a unique smoky essence to your gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 salmon fillet (wild-caught preferred)
  • Wood pellets (hickory, apple, or cherry)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon kosher salt
  • Fresh herbs (dill, parsley, or thyme)
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder

Instructions

  1. Rinse and pat dry your salmon fillet. Remove any pin bones gently with tweezers.
  2. Drizzle the salmon (skin side down) with olive oil and season with kosher salt. Add herbs and garlic powder, massaging them into the flesh. Let it marinate in the refrigerator for 30 minutes to 1 hour.
  3. Prepare your Traeger grill according to manufacturer instructions and preheat it to 225°F, adding your wood pellets.
  4. Place the salmon fillet directly on the grill grate (skin side down) and close the lid. Smoke for about 1.5 to 2 hours or until the internal temperature reaches 145°F.
  5. Remove the salmon from the grill and let it rest for a few minutes before serving.
  6. Slice the salmon into portions and serve immediately with sides like sautéed mushrooms or herb salad.

Notes

Experiment with different wood pellets and herbs for unique flavors. Ensure the salmon is well-marinated for the best taste.
