Instructions
- Prepare your ingredients: Allow the butter and cream cheese to sit at room temperature for about an hour.
- Beat the butter and cream cheese together on medium speed until creamy and smooth—about 2–3 minutes.
- Gradually add the sifted powdered sugar, one cup at a time, mixing on low speed.
- Incorporate the molasses, ground ginger, cinnamon, and allspice. Mix until combined.
- Finish with a splash of vanilla, beating again until fluffy for about one minute.
- Taste and adjust the spice level according to your preference.
- Chill in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes if the frosting feels too soft.
Notes
Store any leftover frosting in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to a week. Can also be frozen for up to three months.
