Description
A delightful blend of juicy chicken breast, earthy mushrooms, and zesty lemon, all enveloped in a creamy buttery sauce topped with grated Romano cheese.
Ingredients
Scale
- 4 boneless chicken breasts or thighs
- 8 oz fresh mushrooms (white or cremini)
- 2 fresh lemons (juice and zest)
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 4 tbsp unsalted butter
- 1/2 cup grated Romano cheese
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Prepare your ingredients: Gather and chop mushrooms, mince garlic, and zest lemons.
- Cook the chicken: In a large skillet over medium heat, melt 1 tbsp butter. Add chicken, season with salt and pepper, and cook until golden brown, about 6-8 minutes per side. Remove and set aside.
- Sauté the mushrooms: In the same skillet, add 1 tbsp butter and toss in mushrooms. Cook until golden and tender, about 5 minutes.
- Add garlic and lemon: Stir in minced garlic and cook for 1 minute, then add lemon juice and zest.
- Combine and finish: Return the chicken to the skillet, coat in sauce, and simmer until cooked through. Sprinkle Romano cheese on top before serving.
- Serve it hot: Enjoy it over pasta, rice, or with crusty bread and garnish with fresh herbs.
Notes
Ensure not to overcrowd the pan when cooking the chicken for a perfect sear.
