Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef (80/20 blend)
  • 4 slices thick-cut bacon
  • 4 slices sharp cheddar cheese
  • 4 burger buns (brioche or pretzel rolls)
  • Salt, to taste
  • Pepper, to taste
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • Optional toppings: lettuce, tomato, pickles, onions, sautéed mushrooms, avocado

Instructions

  1. Cook the bacon in a skillet over medium heat until crispy. Reserve the drippings.
  2. Divide the ground beef into large balls, about 6 ounces each.
  3. Heat the skillet over high heat until hot.
  4. Place the meatballs in the skillet and smash them down with a spatula.
  5. Season with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder while cooking.
  6. Flip the patties and add a slice of cheddar cheese on top of each patty.
  7. Cover the pan to help the cheese melt for 1-2 minutes.
  8. Toast the buns in the same skillet until golden brown.
  9. Assemble the burgers with the bottom half of the bun, patty with cheese, bacon, and desired toppings.
  10. Serve and enjoy fresh with fries or salad!
