Description
A flavorful dish combining tender beef and crisp asparagus, infused with garlic for a hearty meal that’s perfect for weeknights and gatherings.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb beef (sirloin or flank steak), thinly sliced
- 1 bunch fresh asparagus, cut into bite-sized pieces
- 4 cloves fresh garlic, minced
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- Salt and black pepper, to taste
Instructions
- Begin by thinly slicing your beef against the grain and season with salt and black pepper.
- Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the beef and sear without moving for about 2-3 minutes.
- Flip the beef and cook for another 2 minutes, then remove from the skillet.
- In the same skillet, add another drizzle of olive oil if needed. Toss in minced garlic, cooking for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Add the asparagus and sauté for around 4-5 minutes until tender yet still crunchy.
- Return the beef to the skillet, add soy sauce, and stir-fry everything together for another 2-3 minutes. Ensure everything is well mixed and heated through.
- Serve over steamed rice or noodles, garnished with sesame seeds or fresh herbs like cilantro.
Notes
For a lighter version, substitute beef with chicken or tofu. You can also replace asparagus with green beans or snap peas.
