Savory French Dip Squares with tender roast beef, gooey cheese, and a buttery crust, served with warm au jus for dipping.

- 1 Baguette or Slider Rolls
- 1 pound Roast Beef, thinly sliced
- 8 ounces Swiss or Provolone Cheese
- 4 tablespoons Butter, melted
- 2 cloves Garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon Thyme, dried
- 1 teaspoon Oregano, dried
- 2 cups Beef Broth
- 1 Onion, sliced and caramelized
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Prepare a baking dish by greasing or lining it with parchment paper.
- Sauté the onions and garlic in a skillet over medium heat with butter until soft and caramelized.
- Assemble the squares by layering roast beef, sautéed onions and garlic, and cheese on the bottom half of the baguette.
- Top with the other half of the bread, brush with melted butter, and sprinkle with garlic powder and herbs.
- Bake for 15-20 minutes until golden brown and cheese is melted.
- Prepare the au jus by simmering beef broth with Worcestershire sauce, if desired.
- Serve warm, sliced into squares or triangles, alongside au jus for dipping.
Notes
For added flavor, consider adding horseradish to the beef or mixing some grated parmesan into the cheese.
