  • ¾ cup brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs

  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon baking soda
  • Turbinado sugar or granulated sugar for topping

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Beat together the butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Add eggs one at a time, then beat in the vanilla extract.
  4. In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and baking soda, then combine with the wet ingredients.
  5. Scoop the dough onto a parchment-lined baking sheet and sprinkle with turbinado sugar.
  6. Bake for 10-12 minutes until edges are golden but centers are still soft.
  7. Cool completely, then caramelize the sugar topping with a kitchen torch.
