- ¾ cup brown sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract

- 1 teaspoon baking powder

- Turbinado sugar or granulated sugar for topping
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Beat together the butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add eggs one at a time, then beat in the vanilla extract.
- In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and baking soda, then combine with the wet ingredients.
- Scoop the dough onto a parchment-lined baking sheet and sprinkle with turbinado sugar.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes until edges are golden but centers are still soft.
- Cool completely, then caramelize the sugar topping with a kitchen torch.
Notes
Chill the dough for 30 minutes before baking for enhanced flavor and less spreading.
