Ingredients

- 2 cups whole milk (or almond/coconut milk)
- 2–3 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
- 2 tablespoons sugar (brown sugar for added flavor)
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Pinch of ground cinnamon
- Pinch of nutmeg
- Dash of cayenne pepper (optional)
- Whipped cream or marshmallows (optional)
Instructions
- In a saucepan over medium heat, combine 2 cups of milk with 2-3 tablespoons of unsweetened cocoa powder and 2 tablespoons of sugar. Stir continuously.
- Add 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract and your spices: a pinch of ground cinnamon, a pinch of nutmeg, and a dash of cayenne. Stir until fully combined.
- Once warm, taste to adjust sweetness and spice.
- Pour into mugs and top with whipped cream or marshmallows if desired.
- Sit back, cozy up, and enjoy!

Stir often to prevent burning and to fully incorporate ingredients. Avoid boiling to keep milk from curdling.
