- 1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon smoked or sweet paprika
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 1 cup chicken or vegetable broth
- Fresh parsley or chives for serving
Instructions
- Heat a skillet over medium-high heat, melting the butter until sizzling. Add the shrimp and cook until pink and opaque, about 2-3 minutes per side. Remove from skillet and set aside.
- Add more butter to the skillet if needed, then toss in the minced garlic and sauté until fragrant.
- Stir in the paprika and let bloom for about 30 seconds. Add the broth, scraping up bits from the bottom of the skillet.
- Pour in the heavy cream, stirring continuously until the sauce thickens slightly.
- Return the shrimp to the skillet, cooking for an additional minute until warmed through.
- Sprinkle fresh herbs over the top and stir gently to combine.
