Description
A rich and flavorful pasta dish combining creamy sauce with Cajun spices and sautéed shrimp, perfect for family gatherings.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb large raw shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 8 oz fettuccine or any long pasta
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 2 tbsp butter
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tsp Cajun seasoning
- 1 cup chicken or seafood broth
- 1 bell pepper, diced
- 2 green onions, chopped
- 2 tbsp parsley, chopped
Instructions
- Prepare the Ingredients: Begin by prepping your shrimp and veggies.
- Cook the Pasta: In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil. Add your pasta and cook until al dente. Reserve a cup of pasta water, then drain and set aside.
- Sauté the Shrimp: In a large skillet, heat butter and olive oil over medium heat. Add shrimp and Cajun seasoning. Cook until pink, about 2-3 minutes per side. Remove from skillet.
- Create the Sauce: In the same skillet, sauté garlic until fragrant, about 30 seconds. Add bell peppers and cook until softened. Pour in the broth, simmer for a few minutes, then stir in heavy cream until smooth.
- Combine and Adjust: Add shrimp back and drained pasta to the skillet. Toss, adding reserved pasta water as needed for creaminess. Adjust seasoning.
- Finish with Fresh Herbs: Fold in chopped parsley and green onions just before serving.
- Serve: Enjoy hot, optionally with a side of garlic bread.
Notes
For a milder dish, reduce the Cajun seasoning. Leftovers can be stored for up to three days in the refrigerator.
