Description

Delightful and buttery wreath-shaped cookies that evoke childhood nostalgia and warmth, perfect for any festive occasion.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup Unsalted Butter, softened
  • 1 cup Granulated Sugar
  • 2 cups All-Purpose Flour
  • 2 large Eggs
  • 2 tsp Pure Vanilla Extract
  • Optional: 1/2 tsp Almond Extract
  • Optional: Zest of 1 Lemon
  • Optional: Confectioners’ Sugar for dusting

Instructions

  1. Cream the butter and sugar until smooth and fluffy, about 2-3 minutes.
  2. Add the eggs and vanilla extract, mixing until smooth.
  3. In another bowl, whisk together flour and a pinch of salt. Gradually add to the butter mixture, blending until just combined.
  4. Wrap the dough in plastic and refrigerate for at least an hour.
  5. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Roll chilled dough into small balls, shape into ropes, and form into wreaths.
  6. Place on a parchment-lined baking sheet and bake for 10-12 minutes, until edges are lightly golden.
  7. Let cool slightly before transferring to a wire rack. Dust with confectioners’ sugar if desired.

Notes

Chilling the dough is crucial to prevent spreading. Experiment with flavors by adding almond extract or lemon zest.
