Description

A rich and velvety hot chocolate infused with homemade caramel and a touch of sea salt, perfect for cozy winter evenings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups whole milk (or almond/oat milk for a dairy-free option)
  • 4 oz dark chocolate (60% cacao or higher)
  • 1/4 cup caramel sauce (homemade or store-bought)
  • Pinch of sea salt
  • Whipped cream (optional)
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. In a medium saucepan over medium heat, warm the milk until steaming but not boiling, stirring occasionally.
  2. Add the chopped dark chocolate to the warm milk, stirring continuously until melted and well combined.
  3. Pour in the caramel sauce and stir until dissolved into the chocolate mixture.
  4. Add a pinch of sea salt and a splash of vanilla extract; stir well.
  5. Pour into mugs and top with whipped cream and extra caramel if desired.

Notes

For a twist, add a dash of cinnamon for extra flavor. Ensure the heat is medium to prevent burning the milk.
