- 5–6 eggs
- 1 cup heavy cream (or whole milk)
- 1 cup sautéed mushrooms
- 1 cup diced bell peppers (any color)
- 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar and mozzarella recommended)
- Fresh herbs (thyme, basil, or parsley)
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and prepare your pie crust in a pie dish.
- Sauté the diced bell peppers and sliced mushrooms in butter or olive oil for 5-7 minutes until soft. Season with salt and pepper.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the eggs and heavy cream with a pinch of nutmeg, salt, and pepper.
- Spread the sautéed vegetables evenly in the pie crust, pour the egg mixture on top, and sprinkle with shredded cheese.
- Bake for 35-40 minutes until the filling is set and the top is golden.
- Cool slightly before slicing and serve warm or at room temperature.
Notes
Ensure to let the quiche rest for 10 minutes after baking for easier slicing. Avoid using too much liquid to prevent a soggy quiche.
