Description

Delightfully layered chocolate cake jars with creamy pumpkin frosting, perfect for celebrating Halloween.


Ingredients

  • 1 box chocolate cake mix
  • 1 cup pumpkin purée
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp nutmeg
  • 1/4 tsp cloves

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven according to cake mix instructions. Grease a cake pan and prepare the batter as directed. Bake until a toothpick comes out clean. Cool completely on a wire rack.
  2. In a bowl, beat cream cheese and butter until creamy. Gradually mix in powdered sugar, then fold in pumpkin purée and spices until smooth.
  3. Crumble the cooled cake into small pieces. Start layering in jars: chocolate cake, pumpkin frosting, repeat until jars are filled, finishing with frosting on top.
  4. Decorate with candy corn, plastic spiders, or edible glitter.
  5. Chill in the fridge for at least an hour before serving.
