- 1 box chocolate cake mix
- 1 cup pumpkin purée
- 8 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 2 cups powdered sugar
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp nutmeg
- 1/4 tsp cloves
Instructions
- Preheat the oven according to cake mix instructions. Grease a cake pan and prepare the batter as directed. Bake until a toothpick comes out clean. Cool completely on a wire rack.
- In a bowl, beat cream cheese and butter until creamy. Gradually mix in powdered sugar, then fold in pumpkin purée and spices until smooth.
- Crumble the cooled cake into small pieces. Start layering in jars: chocolate cake, pumpkin frosting, repeat until jars are filled, finishing with frosting on top.
- Decorate with candy corn, plastic spiders, or edible glitter.
- Chill in the fridge for at least an hour before serving.
- Serve with a spoon, sharing or keeping all to yourself!
