Delightfully fluffy Vegan Ube Rolls infused with the naturally sweet flavor of ube, perfect for any occasion.
Ingredients

- 1 cup ube puree (canned or homemade)
- 4 cups all-purpose flour (or gluten-free flour blend)
- 2 teaspoons instant yeast
- 1/4 cup sugar (or maple syrup/agave nectar)
- 1 cup plant-based milk (almond, oat, or coconut)
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 cup vegan butter (or coconut oil)
Instructions
- Warm the plant-based milk in a saucepan and sprinkle in the instant yeast and sugar. Let it sit for 5-10 minutes until foamy.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine flour and salt. Add the yeast mixture, ube puree, and melted vegan butter. Mix until combined and knead for 8-10 minutes until smooth.
- Place dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise for 1 hour until doubled in size.
- Punch down the dough and roll it into a rectangle on a floured surface. Roll tightly and pinch to seal.
- Cut the dough into 1-2 inch sections and place cut side up in a greased baking dish. Cover and let rise for another 30-45 minutes.
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and bake rolls for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
- Let cool slightly before serving warm, optionally drizzling with vegan butter or coconut glaze.
Notes
Serve with coconut cream or nutty spreads. Perfect for brunch gatherings or as a side dish.
