Description

A delightful balance of sweet cranberries and spicy jalapeños, perfect for gatherings or as a unique treat.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound fresh jalapeños, sliced into rings
  • 2 cups cranberries (fresh or rehydrated dried cranberries)
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 1 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 pinch salt

Instructions

  1. Wearing gloves, slice the jalapeños into thin rings, discarding the seeds if desired.
  2. In a skillet over medium heat, mix sugar, vinegar, water, garlic, and a pinch of salt, stirring until the sugar dissolves.
  3. Add the cranberries and jalapeños, stirring gently to coat everything in the syrup.
  4. Let simmer for about 10-15 minutes until the cranberries plump and the jalapeños soften slightly.
  5. Once cooled, transfer into a jar and marinate for at least a day for best flavor.

Notes

Adjust the heat level by altering the amount of jalapeños or adding cayenne pepper. Allow flavors to marinate for at least 24 hours before consuming.
