Description
A delightful and unique blend of sweet, spicy, and tangy flavors, perfect for any occasion.
Ingredients
Scale
- 3 cups fresh cranberries
- 1 cup granulated sugar (or brown sugar)
- 1/2 cup apple cider vinegar
- 5 fresh jalapeños, sliced into rings
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp ground cloves
Instructions
- Wash the jalapeños thoroughly and slice them into rings, removing seeds for a milder flavor.
- In a medium saucepan, combine cranberries, sugar, and apple cider vinegar. Stir and simmer over medium heat until the cranberries start to pop (about 5-7 minutes).
- Gently fold in the sliced jalapeños, coating them well.
- Add minced garlic, salt, cinnamon, and any additional spices. Simmer for another 5-10 minutes until the jalapeños soften slightly.
- Transfer to a glass jar or airtight container and cool completely before refrigerating.
- Serve warm or chilled with crackers, cream cheese, or as a tangy side.
Notes
Allow the cowboy candy to cool completely before storing to meld flavors beautifully. Preferably, let it chill overnight for the best taste.
