Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Roll out the puff pastry to about 1/8 inch thick on a lightly floured surface.
  3. In a bowl, mix sliced strawberries with sugar and cornstarch; let sit for 10-15 minutes.
  4. Lay the pastry on a parchment-lined baking sheet and score a 1-inch border.
  5. Spoon the strawberry mixture inside the scored border.
  6. Whisk together egg and milk, then brush over the pastry border.
  7. Bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown and puffy.
  8. Let cool slightly before serving warm, preferably with whipped cream.
