These Strawberry Crumble Buttery Bars are a delightful combination of buttery crust and sweet strawberry filling, perfect for gatherings and family celebrations.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 cups fresh strawberries, sliced
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon lemon zest
  • 1/2 cup rolled oats
  • Sprinkle of cinnamon (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×9-inch baking dish.
  2. In a large bowl, blend softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until creamy. Mix in flour and oats until crumbly, reserving about one cup for topping.
  3. Press the remaining crumb mixture evenly into the bottom of the prepared baking dish.
  4. In another bowl, toss sliced strawberries with granulated sugar, lemon juice, and lemon zest; pour over the crust.
  5. Sprinkle the reserved crumb mixture on top of the strawberries. Add a dash of cinnamon if desired.
  6. Bake for 35-40 minutes, until topping is golden brown and strawberries are bubbling.
  7. Allow to cool for 20 minutes before cutting into squares.
  8. Serve warm or at room temperature, preferably with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream.

Notes

Use room temperature butter for easier mixing. Fresh strawberries yield the best flavor.
