These Strawberry Crumble Buttery Bars are a delightful combination of buttery crust and sweet strawberry filling, perfect for gatherings and family celebrations.

- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 2 cups fresh strawberries, sliced
- 2 tablespoons lemon juice
- 1 tablespoon lemon zest
- 1/2 cup rolled oats
- Sprinkle of cinnamon (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×9-inch baking dish.
- In a large bowl, blend softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until creamy. Mix in flour and oats until crumbly, reserving about one cup for topping.
- Press the remaining crumb mixture evenly into the bottom of the prepared baking dish.
- In another bowl, toss sliced strawberries with granulated sugar, lemon juice, and lemon zest; pour over the crust.
- Sprinkle the reserved crumb mixture on top of the strawberries. Add a dash of cinnamon if desired.
- Bake for 35-40 minutes, until topping is golden brown and strawberries are bubbling.
- Allow to cool for 20 minutes before cutting into squares.
- Serve warm or at room temperature, preferably with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream.
Notes
Use room temperature butter for easier mixing. Fresh strawberries yield the best flavor.
