Description
Delightfully spooky cinnamon rolls shaped like ghosts, filled with sweet cinnamon and topped with icing.
Ingredients
Scale
- 4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup whole milk (or almond/oat milk)
- 2 ¼ teaspoons active dry yeast
- ½ cup unsalted butter (melted)
- ½ cup granulated sugar
- ½ cup brown sugar
- 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
- 2 large eggs
- 1 cup powdered sugar (for icing)
- 2 tablespoons milk (for icing)
- Chocolate chips (for decoration)
Instructions
- In a bowl, warm the milk until lukewarm, and sprinkle the yeast over it. Let sit for about 5 minutes until foamy.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the heated milk, melted butter, granulated sugar, and eggs. Gradually mix in the flour and a pinch of salt until a soft dough forms.
- Turn the dough onto a lightly floured surface and knead for about 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic. Place in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise in a warm spot until doubled in size (about 1 hour).
- Roll the dough out into a rectangle on a floured surface, about ½-inch thick. Spread softened butter over the surface, then sprinkle with cinnamon and sugar.
- Starting from one long edge, carefully roll the dough into a log. Slice into rolls and place in a greased baking dish. Cover and let rise for another 30 minutes.
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake the rolls for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
- For icing, mix powdered sugar and milk until smooth, then drizzle over warm rolls. Use chocolate chips to create spooky faces.
Notes
Ensure yeast is active and all ingredients are at room temperature for best results. Let the dough rise in a warm environment.
