Description
Delightfully spooky cookies shaped like spiders, combining rich chocolate flavor with playful presentation.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups All-Purpose Flour
- 3/4 cup Cocoa Powder
- 1 cup Granulated Sugar
- 1/2 cup Brown Sugar
- 1/2 cup Unsalted Butter, melted
- 2 large Eggs
- 1 tsp Vanilla Extract
- 1 cup Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips
- 1 tsp Espresso Powder (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a large mixing bowl, melt the unsalted butter, then whisk in the granulated and brown sugar until combined. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition, then stir in the vanilla extract.
- In a separate bowl, sift together the all-purpose flour, cocoa powder, espresso powder, and baking soda.
- Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet ingredients, mixing until a cohesive dough forms. Fold in the chocolate chips last.
- Using a tablespoon or cookie scoop, drop mounds of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, shaping them into an oval form to resemble spiders.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes. They should look slightly soft but will firm up while cooling.
- Once slightly cool, melt additional chocolate to create spider legs on top of the cookies.
- Allow the cookies to cool completely on wire racks before enjoying.
Notes
Using room temperature ingredients ensures a smooth batter. Chill the dough for thicker cookies if desired.
