- 1 lb ground beef
- 8 oz egg noodles
- 1 cup sour cream
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/2 cup cream cheese (optional)
- 1 onion, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 cups beef broth
- 1 tsp Italian herbs
- 1 tsp paprika
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Boil salted water and cook the egg noodles according to package instructions for 7-8 minutes until al dente, then drain.
- In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat and sauté the diced onions until translucent. Add minced garlic and cook until fragrant.
- Add ground beef to the skillet and cook until browned, about 8-10 minutes, draining excess fat if necessary.
- In a large bowl, combine sour cream, cream cheese (if using), broth, and seasonings. Stir in cooked noodles and the beef mixture until well combined.
- Transfer the mixture to a greased baking dish and top with shredded cheddar cheese.
- Cover with foil and bake for 20 minutes. Remove foil and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes until golden brown and bubbly.
- Allow the casserole to cool for a few minutes before serving.
Notes
For extra flavor, consider adding sautéed mushrooms to the beef mixture or fresh herbs on top before serving.
