Description

A comforting and flavorful dish that combines tender beef roast with smoky BBQ sauce, perfect for gatherings and family dinners.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 beef chuck roast
  • 1 cup BBQ sauce
  • 1 onion, sliced
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp ground black pepper
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 2 tbsp apple cider vinegar

Instructions

  1. Trim excess fat from the beef roast and season generously with salt and pepper.
  2. Optional: Sear the roast in a skillet over medium-high heat for 4-5 minutes on each side until browned.
  3. In the slow cooker, layer sliced onions and minced garlic, then place the beef roast on top.
  4. Pour BBQ sauce, beef broth, and apple cider vinegar over the roast.
  5. Cover and cook on low for 8-10 hours or high for 4-5 hours until fork-tender.
  6. Remove the beef, let it rest, then shred it with two forks and mix it with the sauce in the slow cooker.
  7. Adjust seasoning if needed, and serve on soft buns, over rice, or in tacos.

Notes

To enhance flavor, consider searing the beef before slow cooking. Ensure not to lift the lid too often during cooking.
