Description

A soul-warming slow cooker recipe for BBQ pulled beef that combines tender chuck roast and aromatic spices for a delightful meal.


Ingredients

  • 34 lbs Chuck Roast
  • 1 cup Barbecue Sauce
  • 1 medium Onion, sliced
  • 3 cloves Garlic, minced
  • 1 cup Beef Broth
  • 1 tsp Garlic Powder
  • 1 tsp Smoked Paprika
  • 1 tsp Cumin
  • 1 tsp Black Pepper
  • Salt, to taste

Instructions

  1. Trim any excess fat from the chuck roast and season it generously with salt and pepper.
  2. Optional: Sear the meat in a skillet over medium-high heat for 3-4 minutes on each side until browned.
  3. Place sliced onions at the bottom of the slow cooker.
  4. Add the beef on top, then minced garlic, spices, barbecue sauce, and beef broth.
  5. Cover and set the slow cooker to low for 8-10 hours or high for about 4-5 hours.
  6. Once the beef is tender, use two forks to shred it and mix back with the juices.
  7. Serve on buns, in tacos, or as desired.

Notes

Allow the meat to rest for a few minutes before shredding to enhance flavor meld.
