Ingredients

  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 2 tbsp Cajun seasoning
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 shallot, minced
  • Fresh herbs (parsley or chives), for garnish
  • 1 lemon, juiced

Instructions

  1. Pat the scallops dry with paper towels to ensure a good sear.
  2. Season the scallops with salt and Cajun seasoning; let rest for a few minutes.
  3. In a skillet, melt butter over medium-high heat and add the scallops without touching each other.
  4. Sear for 2-3 minutes on each side until golden brown; transfer to a warm plate.
  5. In the same skillet, add more butter and sauté garlic and shallots until fragrant.
  6. Pour in heavy cream, stir, add more Cajun seasoning, and lemon juice; simmer until thickened.
  7. Return scallops to the pan and coat them with the sauce.
  8. Plate the scallops, drizzle the spicy cream sauce, and garnish with fresh herbs.
