Description

A delightful fusion of earthy mushrooms, crispy texture, and a vibrant herb infusion that brings family and friends together.

Ingredients

Scale
  • Fresh mushrooms (shiitake, portobello, or button)
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup cornstarch
  • Fresh herbs (parsley, thyme, dill)
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 large eggs
  • Oil for frying (canola or vegetable)
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Clean your mushrooms gently with a damp cloth and slice them about 1/4 inch thick.
  2. In one bowl, whisk together flour, cornstarch, salt, and pepper.
  3. In another bowl, beat the eggs.
  4. In a third bowl, mix together minced garlic and herbs.
  5. Dip the mushroom slices into the flour mixture, then into the egg wash, and finally into the herbed mixture, ensuring they are well-coated.
  6. Heat about 1 inch of oil in a deep skillet over medium-high heat.
  7. Carefully place the mushrooms in the hot oil and fry until golden brown, about 3-4 minutes per side.
  8. Transfer to a plate lined with paper towels to absorb excess oil and sprinkle with salt immediately.

Notes

Work in batches while frying to maintain oil temperature. Serve hot for the best crunch.
