Description
A delightful fusion of earthy mushrooms, crispy texture, and a vibrant herb infusion that brings family and friends together.
Ingredients
Scale
- Fresh mushrooms (shiitake, portobello, or button)
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup cornstarch
- Fresh herbs (parsley, thyme, dill)
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 large eggs
- Oil for frying (canola or vegetable)
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Clean your mushrooms gently with a damp cloth and slice them about 1/4 inch thick.
- In one bowl, whisk together flour, cornstarch, salt, and pepper.
- In another bowl, beat the eggs.
- In a third bowl, mix together minced garlic and herbs.
- Dip the mushroom slices into the flour mixture, then into the egg wash, and finally into the herbed mixture, ensuring they are well-coated.
- Heat about 1 inch of oil in a deep skillet over medium-high heat.
- Carefully place the mushrooms in the hot oil and fry until golden brown, about 3-4 minutes per side.
- Transfer to a plate lined with paper towels to absorb excess oil and sprinkle with salt immediately.
Notes
Work in batches while frying to maintain oil temperature. Serve hot for the best crunch.
