Description
A delightful dish combining the sweetness of brown sugar and pineapple with savory garlic and soy sauce, perfect for family gatherings.
Ingredients
- Chicken (breast or thighs, preferably bone-in, skin-on)
- Brown sugar
- Soy sauce
- Fresh pineapple (chunks or canned)
- Garlic (minced)
- Ginger (freshly grated)
- Green onions (chopped)
- Sesame oil
Instructions
- Prepare the Marinade: In a bowl, mix the brown sugar, soy sauce, minced garlic, and ginger until the sugar dissolves.
- Marinate the Chicken: Place chicken in a resealable bag and pour marinade over. Seal and refrigerate for at least 1 hour.
- Sauté the Chicken: Heat a skillet over medium-high heat, add oil, and cook marinated chicken until golden brown and cooked through (6-8 minutes per side).
- Add the Pineapple: Toss in pineapple chunks and sauté for 3-4 minutes until caramelized.
- Finish with Green Onions and Sesame Oil: Stir in green onions and drizzle sesame oil.
- Serve: Plate the chicken and pineapple, drizzling the leftover sauce over. Enjoy with rice or salad.
Notes
Using frozen or canned pineapple may require less sugar to avoid excessive sweetness. Do not overcrowd the skillet to ensure proper browning.
