Description

Deliciously soft and chewy Red Velvet Crinkle Cookies, lightly dusted with powdered sugar, perfect for sharing during holidays and family gatherings.


Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 tablespoon red food coloring
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup powdered sugar (for dusting)

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
  2. In another bowl, whisk together the granulated sugar, brown sugar, vegetable oil, eggs, and red food coloring until smooth.
  3. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined.
  4. Cover the dough and chill in the fridge for at least 30 minutes.
  5. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare baking sheets with parchment paper.
  6. Scoop out the dough and roll into balls, then roll each ball in powdered sugar.
  7. Place the cookie balls on the prepared baking sheet and space them apart.
  8. Bake for 10-12 minutes until edges are set and tops have crinkles.
  9. Let cookies cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

For a vegan option, replace eggs with flaxseed meal mixed with water and use a plant-based oil.
