Indulge in the magic of Red Velvet Brownies, a perfect blend of rich cocoa and vibrant color, bringing joy and comfort to any occasion.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 tablespoon red food coloring (gel)
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup chocolate chips (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a 9×9-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
- Melt the butter in a medium saucepan over low heat, then remove and let cool slightly. Whisk in the granulated and brown sugars until combined.
- Add eggs one at a time and mix well after each addition. Stir in vanilla extract and red food coloring.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, folding gently until just combined. Stir in chocolate chips if using.
- Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out with a few moist crumbs.
- Allow to cool for 10 minutes before lifting out of the pan and transferring to a wire rack to cool completely. Cut into squares and enjoy.
Notes
For best results, let the brownies sit after cooling to allow flavors to meld. Avoid overmixing to keep the fudgy texture.
