Description

Delightful and festive puff pastry shaped like Christmas trees, filled with savory cheese and mushrooms, making them perfect for holiday gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 package of puff pastry sheets
  • 1 cup cheese (cheddar, mozzarella, or goat cheese)
  • 1 cup fresh mushrooms, diced
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • Fresh herbs (thyme or parsley)
  • 1 egg (for egg wash)
  • Olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Sauté diced onion and garlic in olive oil until translucent.
  3. Add chopped mushrooms and cook until they release their moisture. Season with salt, pepper, and fresh herbs; let the mixture cool.
  4. Roll out the pastry sheets to about ¼-inch thickness and cut out triangles for the tree shapes.
  5. Place a spoonful of filling on each triangle, fold the edges, and create decorative slits for branches.
  6. Brush each tree with egg wash for golden color.
  7. Arrange on a baking sheet and bake for 20-25 minutes until puffed and golden brown.
  8. Serve warm, garnished with herbs or glaze if desired.

Notes

Ensure to keep a close eye on the pastries while baking to avoid over-browning.
