- 4 bell peppers (red, green, or yellow)
- 1 lb ground beef or thinly sliced steak
- 1 cup mushrooms (button or cremini), chopped
- 1 onion, chopped
- 1 cup provolone or cheddar cheese, shredded
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- Salt, to taste
- Pepper, to taste
- Italian seasoning, to taste
- Olive oil, for cooking
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Prepare the peppers by slicing off the tops and removing the seeds.
- In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Sauté the onion and mushrooms until tender.
- Add the ground beef, breaking it up, and season with garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Cook until browned.
- Stir in shredded cheese until melted and combined with the meat mixture.
- Stuff the peppers with the beef and cheese filling.
- Place the stuffed peppers in a baking dish, cover with foil, and bake for 20-30 minutes. Remove foil for the last 10 minutes to brown the tops.
- Garnish with fresh herbs before serving.
