Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb flank steak or sirloin, sliced
  • 8 oz pasta (penne or rigatoni)
  • 1 cup provolone cheese, shredded
  • 1 cup bell peppers, diced
  • 1 cup onions, diced
  • 1 cup mushrooms, sliced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce

Instructions

  1. Slice the beef into thin strips and dice the bell peppers and onions. Mince the garlic and set aside.
  2. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil, then cook the pasta until al dente. Drain and save a bit of pasta water.
  3. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat and sauté onions and garlic until fragrant.
  4. Add bell peppers and mushrooms, cooking until tender.
  5. Push the veggies to the side and add the beef, seasoning with salt, pepper, and Worcestershire sauce, cooking until browned.
  6. Mix the beef and veggies together, pouring in the cooked pasta and a splash of pasta water. Stir to combine and add the cheese until melted.
  7. Serve hot, garnished with fresh herbs or additional cheese if desired.

Notes

Feel free to customize the veggies based on your preferences. You can also substitute beef for chicken or tofu for a vegetarian version.
