Description

A delightful holiday treat with rich chocolate and a refreshing peppermint swirl, perfect for family gatherings.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup semi-sweet or bittersweet chocolate chips
  • 1 cup sweetened condensed milk
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1 teaspoon peppermint extract
  • Red food coloring
  • Optional: crushed peppermint candies for topping

Instructions

  1. Line an 8-inch square pan with parchment paper.
  2. In a saucepan, melt chocolate chips and butter over low heat, stirring constantly.
  3. Add sweetened condensed milk and simmer for 3–5 minutes.
  4. Stir in peppermint extract and adjust to taste.
  5. Pour half of the mixture into the pan and spread evenly.
  6. Add red food coloring to the remaining mixture and stir.
  7. Pour the colored mixture on top of the white layer and swirl with a toothpick.
  8. Chill in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours until set.
  9. Lift out of the pan, cut into squares, and serve.

Notes

For a dairy-free alternative, use coconut cream instead of sweetened condensed milk. Customize with crushed peppermint for added crunch.
