Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Cream the butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy (about 2-3 minutes).
  3. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  4. Mix the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt in a separate bowl, then gradually add to the wet mixture.
  5. Add the peppermint extract and fold until evenly distributed.
  6. Scoop dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them apart.
  7. Bake for 10-12 minutes until edges are set but centers are soft.
  8. Cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
  9. Prepare the frosting by mixing powdered sugar, peppermint extract, and milk until smooth.
  10. Frost cooled cookies and decorate as desired.
