- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips (for spider legs)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, whisk together flour and baking soda; set aside.
- In another bowl, combine peanut butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar, beating until creamy.
- Add the egg and vanilla extract, mixing until fully combined.
- Gradually stir in the dry mixture until just combined.
- Scoop tablespoons of dough, roll into balls, and place on baking sheets.
- Bake for 8–10 minutes until lightly golden around the edges.
- While cooling, melt chocolate, dip pretzel sticks, and attach them to cookies for spider legs; add candy eyes.
- Let cool completely before serving.
Notes
For a nut-free version, use sunflower seed butter. Watch baking time carefully to avoid overcooking.
