Ingredients

- 1 lb fresh uncooked shrimp (16–20 count per pound)
- 2 tablespoons olive oil or butter
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
- 2 tablespoons fresh cilantro, chopped
- 1 lemon, juiced
- Salt and pepper, to taste
Instructions
- Prepare the shrimp by thawing if frozen and patting dry with a paper towel. Season with salt and pepper.
- Heat a skillet over medium-high heat. Add olive oil or butter and let warm until shimmering.
- Place the shrimp in a single layer in the skillet and cook undisturbed for 2-3 minutes until golden brown on one side.
- Flip the shrimp and add minced garlic, cooking for about a minute without burning.
- Sprinkle in chopped herbs and squeeze lemon juice just before removing from heat.
- Transfer to a platter and serve immediately, optionally with crusty bread or wild rice.
Notes
Do not overcrowd the pan to ensure proper searing.
