- 12 hard taco shells
- 1 lb ground beef (or turkey/chicken)
- 2 cups shredded sharp cheddar or Mexican cheese blend
- 1 packet taco seasoning
- 1/2 cup water
- 1 cup diced tomatoes
- 1 cup shredded lettuce
- 1 avocado, diced
- Salsa, sour cream, and fresh herbs for serving
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and prepare a baking dish.
- In a skillet, cook ground meat over medium heat until browned; drain fat.
- Add taco seasoning and water to the meat; simmer for a few minutes.
- Place taco shells upright in the baking dish; fill with meat mixture and top with cheese.
- Bake for 10-15 minutes until cheese is bubbling and lightly browned.
- Let cool slightly and serve with toppings.
