Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans or line with parchment paper.
- In a bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- In a separate bowl, cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until fluffy.
- Beat in the eggs one at a time, ensuring each is fully incorporated.
- Fold in the orange zest and juice.
- Alternate adding the dry mixture and milk to the creamed mixture, starting and ending with the dry ingredients.
- Pour the batter evenly into the prepared pans and smooth the tops.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Cool in the pans for 10 minutes before transferring to wire racks.
- For the frosting, beat cream cheese and butter together, then gradually add powdered sugar, orange zest, and juice.
- Once cool, frost the cake and garnish as desired.

For a vegan option, substitute eggs with applesauce or flaxseed meal, and use coconut oil instead of butter.
