- ½ cup sugar
- 1 cup sour cream
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2–3 apples, peeled and diced
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1 cup graham crackers, crushed
- ½ cup melted butter
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- Cinnamon and nutmeg to taste
- Optional toppings: whipped cream, cinnamon, caramel sauce, crushed nuts
Instructions
- Prepare the Apple Filling: Melt 2 tablespoons of butter in a skillet over medium heat. Add the diced apples, a sprinkle of cinnamon, a pinch of nutmeg, and 1 tablespoon of sugar. Sauté for 5-7 minutes until tender. Let cool.
- Make the Cheesecake Filling: In a mixing bowl, blend 8 ounces of softened cream cheese with ½ cup of sugar and 1 cup of sour cream. Add 1 teaspoon of vanilla and mix until smooth and creamy.
- Prepare the Crust: Crush the graham crackers to make about 1 cup when crushed. Combine with ½ cup melted butter and 1 tablespoon of sugar. Mix until evenly coated.
- Assemble Your Jars: Layer the jars starting with graham cracker crumbs, a layer of cheesecake filling, and then the apple mixture. Repeat layers until filled, leaving space at the top for decoration.
- Chill and Serve: Refrigerate for 4-6 hours. Top with whipped cream or a sprinkle of cinnamon before serving.
