Ingredients

- 1 lb ground beef
- 1/2 cup fresh mozzarella, shredded
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
- 1 egg
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped
- 1/4 cup fresh basil, chopped
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Olive oil for searing
- 1 cup marinara sauce
Instructions
- Prepare the Ingredients: Finely chop garlic and herbs, and shred the mozzarella into small pieces.
- Mix the Ingredients: In a large bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg, garlic, herbs, salt, and pepper. Mix gently.
- Form the Meatballs: Flatten a small amount of mixture, add mozzarella in the center, fold meat around it, and roll into a ball.
- Sear the Meatballs: Heat olive oil in a skillet, sear meatballs on all sides until golden.
- Bake to Perfection: Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Place meatballs in a baking dish, pour marinara sauce over, and bake for 20-25 minutes.
- Serve and Enjoy: Garnish with fresh herbs and serve with spaghetti, in a sub, or on their own.
Notes
For a crispy exterior, consider broiling the meatballs for the last few minutes of cooking time.
