Description
Delightfully decadent Mini Chocolate Tarts with a rich chocolate filling and a flaky crust, perfect for any occasion.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, cold and diced
- 1–2 tablespoons ice water
- 1 cup dark or milk chocolate, chopped
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter
- 2 large eggs
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
Instructions
- Prepare the Crust: Combine flour and sugar in a bowl. Add diced butter and mix until resembling coarse crumbs. Add ice water gradually until dough forms. Chill for at least 30 minutes.
- Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Roll and Cut: Roll out the dough to about 1/8 inch thick, cut into rounds, and fit them into a miniature tart pan or muffin cup.
- Blind Bake: Line crusts with parchment paper and fill with pie weights. Bake for 15 minutes until golden, then let cool.
- Prepare the Filling: Melt chocolate and butter over low heat, stirring until smooth. Remove from heat. In a bowl, whisk eggs, sugar, and vanilla, then gradually add the chocolate mixture.
- Fill the Tart Shells: Pour filling into baked tart shells, filling almost to the top.
- Bake Again: Bake for 10-12 minutes until set but soft in the center.
- Cool and Serve: Allow to cool, top with whipped cream and a sprinkle of cocoa powder or fresh berries if desired.
Notes
Monitor the baking time closely to achieve a silky filling. Chill the crust long enough for a flaky texture.
