  • Author: sara
  • Total Time: 35 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings 1x
  • Diet: Gluten-Free

Description

Crispy, savory crostini topped with sautéed mushrooms, garlic, and rich bacon, perfect for brunch gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 fresh baguette
  • 6 slices thick-cut bacon
  • 8 oz cremini mushrooms, sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons butter or olive oil
  • Fresh chives or parsley for garnish
  • Optional toppings: goat cheese or Parmesan

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Slice the baguette into half-inch pieces and place on a baking sheet. Brush with melted butter or olive oil. Bake for 10 minutes until crisp and lightly toasted.
  2. Cook the bacon in a skillet over medium heat until crispy, about 4-6 minutes on each side. Reserve the drippings and chop the bacon into small pieces.
  3. In the same skillet, sauté the minced garlic in reserved bacon drippings for 30 seconds, then add the mushrooms and sauté until golden brown, about 5-7 minutes. Season with salt and pepper.
  4. Assemble the crostini by topping each toasted baguette slice with sautéed mushrooms and bacon. Add cheese if desired.
  5. Serve warm and enjoy!

Notes

For a lighter version, use turkey bacon and gluten-free bread. Make sure to sauté mushrooms until they are dry to avoid sogginess.
