- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 4 large eggs
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- A pinch of salt
- 1 cup whole milk
- 1 to 1.5 cups fresh blueberries (or frozen)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease and flour a 9-inch round cake pan.
- Cream together the unsalted butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy, about 3-5 minutes.
- Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition, then mix in the vanilla extract.
- In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add this to the butter mixture alternately with the milk, starting and ending with flour.
- Gently fold in the blueberries.
- Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and bake for 45-55 minutes until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Allow to cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before turning it onto a wire rack.
Notes
For added flavor, drizzle a simple glaze of powdered sugar and milk on top before serving.
