- 1 lb (450g) ground beef (or lamb/chicken)
- 1 cup mushrooms (cremini or button), chopped
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup beef broth (or vegetable broth)
- 1 tsp dried thyme
- 1 tsp dried rosemary
- 1 cup carrots, diced
- 1 cup peas
- 2 pie crusts (store-bought or homemade)
- 1 egg, for egg wash
Instructions
- In a skillet, heat oil over medium heat and sauté onions and garlic until soft.
- Add ground meat, cooking until browned.
- Incorporate mushrooms and cook until they soften.
- Add thyme, rosemary, salt, and pepper. Pour in broth and simmer for 10 minutes.
- Mix in diced carrots and peas, cooking until just tender.
- Prepare pie crust; roll out and line the pie dish.
- Allow filling to cool slightly, then pour it into the crust. Cover with another layer, crimp edges, and make slits for steam to escape.
- Brush with egg wash and bake at 375°F (190°C) for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
- Let cool for a few minutes before serving.
