Description
A rich and creamy dip combining smoky bacon, sharp cheddar, and sweet maple syrup with a hint of bourbon.
Ingredients
Scale
- 6–8 strips bacon
- 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup sharp cheddar cheese, grated
- 1/2 cup maple syrup
- 2 tablespoons bourbon
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- Chives, for garnish
Instructions
- In a skillet over medium heat, cook the bacon until crispy. Remove and place on paper towels to drain, then crumble into pieces.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine softened cream cheese, grated cheddar cheese, and maple syrup. Blend until smooth and creamy.
- Stir in bourbon, garlic powder, and onion powder.
- Gently fold in half of the crumbled bacon and chives, reserving the rest for topping.
- Pour the mixture into a greased baking dish and bake at 350°F (175°C) for 25-30 minutes until bubbly and golden.
- Remove from the oven, cool slightly, then top with remaining bacon and chives. Serve with chips or fresh veggies.
Notes
For a lighter option, use turkey bacon. Consider substitutes like agave nectar for maple syrup and Greek yogurt for cream cheese.
