Description

A delightful mix of marinated steak, fragrant rice, and colorful vegetables, perfect for family gatherings and personalized meals.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ribeye or flank steak
  • 1/4 cup low-sodium soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp sesame oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 cups jasmine rice
  • 2 cups fresh vegetables (carrots, bell peppers, spinach or bok choy)
  • 1 tbsp sesame seeds

Instructions

  1. Marinate the steak: In a bowl, combine soy sauce, brown sugar, sesame oil, and minced garlic. Whisk until the sugar dissolves. Add the steak, cover, and let marinate for at least 30 minutes.
  2. Cook the rice: Prepare jasmine rice according to package instructions. Fluff and keep warm.
  3. Sauté the vegetables: In a skillet over medium heat, drizzle sesame oil. Sauté vegetables until just tender, about 4-5 minutes. Sprinkle with salt and set aside.
  4. Cook the steak: In the same skillet, increase heat to high. Remove steak from marinade and cook for about 4-5 minutes per side until desired doneness. Let rest before slicing.
  5. Create the bowls: In a bowl, add a scoop of rice, top with sliced steak and sautéed vegetables. Drizzle with reserved marinade and sprinkle sesame seeds.
  6. Serve immediately and enjoy!

Notes

Allowing the steak to marinate for longer will enhance the flavor. Always let steak rest before slicing for better juiciness.
