A warm dessert combining the nostalgic flavors of banana and whipped cream with the easy preparation of a dump cake.

- 1 box yellow cake mix
- 3 ripe bananas, sliced
- 1 can cherry pie filling
- 1 package instant vanilla pudding mix
- 2 cups cold milk
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, sliced
- 1/2 cup chopped walnuts or pecans
- 1 cup whipped topping
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Prepare a 9×13 inch baking dish by greasing it with butter or non-stick spray.
- Spread the cherry pie filling evenly over the bottom of the dish.
- Scatter the sliced bananas over the cherry pie filling.
- In a medium bowl, whisk the vanilla pudding mix with 2 cups of cold milk until it thickens, then pour it over the banana layer.
- Evenly distribute the yellow cake mix over the pudding layer.
- Dot the top with sliced butter and sprinkle the chopped nuts over everything.
- Bake for 45-50 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the edges are bubbly.
- Let it cool slightly before serving.
Notes
For a different flavor, substitute cherry pie filling with chocolate or strawberry, and use chocolate pudding instead of vanilla.
