Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound Ground Beef (80/20 blend)
  • 8 slices Thick-Cut Bacon
  • 4 slices Sharp Cheddar Cheese
  • 4 Burger Buns (brioche or potato)
  • Condiments (mustard, ketchup, or special sauce)

  • Salt and Pepper

Instructions

  1. Prepare the ingredients: Set out ground beef and let it come to room temperature. Slice bacon and cheese; prep lettuce and tomatoes.
  2. Cook the bacon: In a skillet, cook bacon until crispy. Drain and reserve some grease.
  3. Form the patties: Take about 4 ounces of ground beef, form it into a loose ball.
  4. Smash it!: Heat skillet over high heat, press the beef ball down into a thin patty. Season with salt and pepper.
  5. Add cheese: One minute before finishing, place cheddar cheese on the patty and cover to melt.
  6. Toast the buns: Slice and toast buns in reserved bacon fat for extra flavor.
  7. Assemble: Place the patty on the bun, add bacon and fresh toppings, then add condiments.

Notes

Feel free to substitute beef with turkey or plant-based patties, and experiment with different cheeses.
