Description
A decadent chocolate cake featuring layers of dark and white chocolate, perfect for celebrations and family gatherings.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup dark cocoa powder
- 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 cups granulated sugar
- 4 large eggs
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 1 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 1 cup milk
- 8 oz white chocolate
- 1 cup heavy cream
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and line three 8-inch round cake pans with parchment paper.
- Whisk together your flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and baking soda in a large mixing bowl.
- Cream butter and sugar together in another bowl until fluffy, about 3-5 minutes. Add eggs one at a time.
- Incorporate the dry ingredients alternately with milk until just combined.
- Divide the batter equally among the prepared pans. Bake for 25-30 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Cool cakes in pans for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
- For the frosting, melt white chocolate and let it cool slightly. Beat heavy cream until stiff peaks form, then fold in white chocolate.
- Assemble the cake by placing one layer on a plate, adding frosting, and repeating with remaining layers. Cover with remaining frosting.
- Garnish with chocolate shavings or fresh berries if desired.
Notes
Ensure eggs and milk are at room temperature for better incorporation. Avoid overmixing the batter once flour is added to maintain moist texture.
