- 8 oz button or cremini mushrooms, diced
- 8 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 1/2 cup sour cream or Greek yogurt
- 1/4 cup parmesan cheese, grated
- 2 tbsp fresh parsley or chives, chopped
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- Optional: cayenne pepper or smoked paprika
- 1 tbsp olive oil or butter
Instructions
- Clean and dice the mushrooms. Heat olive oil or butter in a skillet over medium heat and sauté the mushrooms until golden brown.
- In a large bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, sour cream, and minced garlic. Mix until smooth.
- Fold the sautéed mushrooms into the cream mixture until evenly distributed.
- Stir in the parmesan cheese and fresh herbs. Season with salt and pepper.
- For a warm version, transfer the dip to a baking dish and bake at 350°F (175°C) for 20 minutes until bubbly and golden.
- Serve with your favorite dippers.
